Viscose
Viscose is used in some of our products. It is a fibre derived from natural raw materials such as wood. The cellulose extracted from the wood is dissolved and, through a chemical process, converted into spinnable fibres. Viscose combines characteristics of both natural and synthetic materials and is valued for its soft handle, fluid drape and breathability.
The properties of the fibre can vary depending on the production process and the origin of the raw material. Manufacturing involves several stages in which chemical solutions are used and subsequently washed out.
From an environmental perspective, the production of viscose is associated with certain challenges. These include the use of chemicals during the manufacturing process and the origin of the wood used. The specific impacts depend largely on the production methods, manufacturing conditions and source of the raw materials.
